Jamaica Adds to the Medal Count

Medals for Jamaica

Jamaica continue to dominate on the track adding more medals. Shericka Jackson claimed bronze in the Women’s 400m behind Allyson Felix and Shaunae Miller of Bahamas. Jamaica has taken an historic Gold for Jamaica in the Men’s 110m hurdles through Omar Mcleod. This is the first time Team Jamaica has won a Gold Medal in 110m Hurdles. Jamaica has so far racked up three Gold Medals in the sprint finals, Men’s and Women’s 100 through Elaine Thompson and Usain Bolt respectively and Omar Mcleod in 110m Hurdles sprint.

Jamaica will later look to continue the domination of the sprints when Elaine Thompson takes the track in 200m finals. Elaine Thompson will be aiming at taking the sprint double after winning the 100m finals. The 100m Women’s Hurdles sprint semi finals and finals will also be contested with 3 Jamaicans slated for the semi-finals, Shermaine Williams, Nickiesha Wilson and Megan Simmonds all looking to advance to the finals. Other semi finals action will see the Men’s 200m. Usain Bolt Yohan Blake and Nickel Ashmeade will all want to advance to the finals. The finals will be run Thursday night.
