Antonio’s goal came in as a substitute in a 4-0 win against Nottingham Forest
Jamaican striker Michail Antonio came from the bench to slot in a thumping header that confirmed West Ham’s victory over Nottingham Forest.
David Moyes’ side climbed out of the relegation zone with this 4-0 win in the London Stadium. Danny Ings led West Ham’s demolition of Nottingham Forest with a second half goal that came in the 71st minute. Ings proved to be the difference after delivering an identical goal just three minutes later. These two were ”typical goal-poacher” goals.
The third goal came from captain Declan Rice in the 78th minute. Although he doesn’t score frequently, the West Ham fans were happy to see another goal.
Michail Antonio came in place of Danny Ings as an 84th minute substitute. He proceeded to show his worth after finishing a well-placed cross from Pablo Fornals.
Danny Ings received a standing ovation as he came off the pitch. He was purchased recently from rivals Aston Villa for a price of US$17.9 million (PS15 million). He was brought in as competition for Antonio and the injured Guanlucca Scamacca.
In other news, Reggae Boy Jonson Clarke-Harris scored twice to help Peterborough United punish Plymouth Argyle in an entertaining 5-2 game. These goals mean that the Jamaican international has 20 goals in League One.
Jamaican Jordon Garrick helped Forest Green Rovers save a point after scoring a goal that secured a 1-1 result against Lincoln City. This game was also in the League One division.
The Jamaicans continued with their goal-scoring spree when Ahkeem Rose scored the fourth goal in a 5-0 routing of Concord Rangers. The 24-year-old plays in the sixth-tier National League South.
