Stormy Weather Disrupts Yearling Sale

1 min read

Two of the 40 yearlings sold on Sunday were auctioned for $3.6 million and $3.4 million

On Sunday November 13th, the 2022 Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) sold 40 out of 87 yearlings sold for $60.2 million. This was suddenly disrupted by heavy rains and wind at Caymanas Park in the official car park.
The tents where the sale sponsors were seated and the ones with the TOBA officials conducting the sale were unjustly brought into disrepute by mother nature’s wrath thus making the sale to come to a sudden end on that day. Hamilton told media sources that the sale has been postponed to the fourth of December which will also be on a Sunday.
Two of the 40 yearlings sold on Sunday were auctioned for $3.6 million and $3.4 million.
Lot #12, a young female horse sold by Wilbert Bagwandeen by Sensational Slam out of Palace Gold fetched $3.6 million.
Lot #19 a young male horse sold Lakeland Farms Limited by Hedge Fund out of Dream Big went for $3.6 million.
Lot #36, a young female horse by Sensational Slam out of Princess Shine fetched $3.4 million. These were some of the notable sales during the auction.
