Gray Has Seven Goals this Season
Queens Park Rangers (QPR) beat Luton 2-1, with Reggae Boy Andre Gray’s scoring a penalty that was followed by Rob Dickie’s late goal. The game was played in Kenilworth Road. English Championship play-off rivals Luton were leading the game before QPR made a comeback.
QPR scored first in the 37th minute when 35-year-old Cameron Jerome struck from close distance. He now has a total of 5 goals this season.
Jamaican Luton striker Gray scored the equalizer in the 55th minute. Gray was fouled by the Kal Naismith and he went on score from the penalty spot.
Gray has now scored seven goals in club football this season. He also scored for Jamaica in a 3-2 defeat against Panama in a World Cup qualifier in January. He was recognized as the best player in the match.
Gray was replaced by 24-year-old Chris Willock in the 78th minute. Willock produced a corner kick that was finished off by Dickie in the 83th minute. The goal went into the back of the net despite being in a crowded six-yard box.
This win has lifted QPR to fourth position in the championship, this is QPR’s second win in eight league matches. The Hatters drop to seventh after their first home league defeat since November 27.
Meanwhile, Reggae Boyz goalkeeper Dillon Barnes has returned back to QPR after his loan spell to Aldershot Town came to an end.
The 25-year-old Barnes made his debut for the Reggae Boyz last July when playing against Costa Rica. During his short playing for Aldershot, he made four appearances in the English-based team that plays in the fifth-tier National League.
Having spent four years with League Two side Colchester United, Barnes joined QPR in 2019 and later had loan spells in Scotland with Hibernian and in England with Burton Albion and Yeovil Town before joining up with Aldershot.
