It is understood that he will launch several charitable initiatives with the help of the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation
A. J. Dybantsa, who is currently the best basketball prospect, is heading to Jamaica. He is ranked as the best player in United States high school leagues.
He is expected to enter college in the latter part of the year. Currently, he is a student at Utah Prep.
He has a soft spot for Jamaica because his mother is from there. She is from Hanover. He will visit the island together with his parents, Chelsea and Anicent Dybantsa. They are expected to arrive on Friday.
Dybantsa is hoping to donate to local basketball programmes. It is understood that he will launch several charitable initiatives with the help of the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation. The two partners are hoping to use the power of sport to inspire young leaders and athletes. They are hoping to instill skills that can change the lives of the next generation.
Dybantsa is expected to emerge as the number-one pick in next year’s NBA Draft. In the fall, he is expected to be playing for the Brigham Young University.
Marley Foundation
Dybantsa is a talented player but he is also known for his philanthropy. His visit will include equipment donations and school visits.
The Jamaica Basketball Association also has a partnership with the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation. The two institutions are working towards growing grass-roots and youth basketball in the island.
The JBA will coordinate Dybantsa’s visit to the island. The institution has already communicated to players who would like to benefit from the initiative. They are hoping to build a pipeline that expose youngsters to future opportunities.
“My parents taught me that I should always help other people. My mother was born in Jamaica and that’s why I decided to start there. My hope is that my actions will motivate the next generation of basketballers,” said Dybansta.
