Anthony Cox took his position in the squad
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association has reconciled with Kimar Farquharson after removing her from the Olympic squad. The organization reached out to him in order to maintain a positive working relationship.
The JAAA initially included him in the initial Mixed 4x400m relay squad that was released last Sunday. He was expected to be a reserve runner in that race. However, Anthony Cox took his position in the squad. Cox is now part of the JAAA’s provisional list. According to reports, Farquharson was left out because he failed to provide paperwork to the Jamaica Olympics Association.
Farquharson told journalists that the JAAA failed to inform him on which documents they wanted him to provide. He also claimed that the organization also failed to inform him that he had been removed from the team. He said that he was disappointed that the JAAA didn’t use any formal methods of communication when dealing with him.
Farquharson revealed that he received no feedback despite contacting the JAAA offices several times in the last week. The officials promised to call him when they found new information.
According to the latest reports, the JAAA officials finally reached out to Farquharson this weekend. They told him that it’s not possible to re-added in the the Olympics team.
We will inform you as this story develops.
