Jamaica Premier League Playoffs-Quarter-Finals Action

The Digicel Premier League as reached the playoffs, after 11 rounds of league action. Waterhouse Football Club topped the league table with Cavaliers second with just 1 point less, 19points and 18points respectively. The top 2 teams will have a BYE to the semi-finals, and a welcomed rest week for Waterhouse FC and Cavaliers FC. The Quarter-Finals will be decided over 2 legs, where number 3 seed Mount Pleasant Academy, who missed out on 2nd place by goal difference, will take on Harbour view, the 6th place team of the league. In the other matchup, 4th place Tivoli Gardens take on 5th place Vere United to determine the semi-finalist.

Earlier in Match Day 3 of the league Mount Pleasant Academy was beaten by Harbour View FC 2-0 with goals coming from league leading goal scorer Oquassa Chong and Lennon Russell. Mount Pleasant had hit better form since week 3 and is not to take lightly. While in the other game Tivoli when faced Vere in as recent as match day 9, less than a month ago, Tivoli FC took a 1-0 win, with the goal coming as early as the 7th minute from Rushane Thompson. Vere will feel like they can turn around this result to move on to the semi-finals.
