The Jamaican fans have been calling for Dujuan Richards to play instead of Nicholson

Reggae Boyz fans have expressed anger after the Reggae Boyz 2-2 draw with Haiti. The fans have singled-out striker Shamar Nicholson as one of the nation’s worst performers. The striker has been struggling to score in recent matches.
Nicholson was one of the players who missed open chances during their game against Haiti.
Haiti scored the first goal in the 11th minute. Louicius Don Deedson dribbled past Damion Lowe before shooting past goalkeeper Andre Blake. It was an embarrassing moment for Blake who was left helplessly mourning on the ground. He was having a terrible performance and he ended up being replaced for Di’Shon Bernard in the second half.
Louicius Don Deedson scored again in the 14th minute. He delivered an unstoppable shot from outside the penalty box. The opportunity was created by a cut-back from forward Mondy Prunier.
The Reggae Boyz mounted a comeback in the second half although it wasn’t enough to win them the game. In the 51st minute, Damarai Gray shot the ball towards the Haiti goal nd the ball is deflected into the net. The goal was recorded as an own-goal by Haiti’s Ricardo Adé.
The Boyz second goal came when Bobby Armani Decordova-Reid converted a penalty in the 83rd minute.
Nicholson got a couple of chances to put Jamaica ahead but he failed to be clinical enough. He told a popular journalist that he wasn’t concerned about his lack of goals. This statement angered many fans who feel that a striker should always be angry if he doesn’t score enough. Nicholson’s goal drought has lasted since 2021, having scored three goal in his last 16 games for Jamaica. The Jamaican fans have been calling for Dujuan Richards to play instead of Nicholson. They believe that Richards is a better goal scorer although he is much younger. It’s now upto coach Heimir Hallgrimsson to play Richards as a striker so that he can prove himself.
