Messi’s Brace Gives Argentina a 3-0 Victory Over Jamaica

Reggae Boyz have no scheduled fixtures until the CONCACAF Nations League in March next year
The friendly match between Jamaica and Argentina that went down at the Red Bull Arena in the USA saw the latter team clobber the former in a 3-0 victory.
Barely 13 minutes into the game, Alvarez of Argentina scored the first goal after receiving a pass from Lautaro Martinez. Martinez managed to maneuver past the Reggae Boyz defenders all the way into the box before delivering a cut-back assist in the six-yard box.
During the rest of the first half, Argentina continued to look for another goal that did not happen. After the break, it was quite similar to the first half as Argentina’s Alexis Mac Allister gave a neat pass to teammate Martinez giving him room inside the box. However, Martinez’s shot went wide of the post.
In the 56th minute, Lionel Messi was subbed into the match. Barely 10 minutes later, Messi got his first opportunity after a quick one touch play enabled him to get to the box. His shot was close but it ended up hitting the post.
Be that as it may, the 87th minute saw Messi receiving a deflected pass near the penalty area then firing a shot with his left foot netting the second goal in the bottom-right corner. Two minutes later, Argentina were given a free kick near the penalty area. Messi fired a shot past the Reggae Boyz goalkeeper into the bottom-left corner. Argentina now marks 35 undefeated games with their last loss being against Brazil in the 2019 Copa America semi-final match.
Despite Messi playing for only 35 minutes, he stood out from all the other players. He completed three fortunate dribbles and five shots; four being on target.
On the other hand, Reggae Boy Bobby Reid found it hard to outshine the opposing team. His passing precision was at 77% which was among the lowest rankings on both sides. He also failed to attempt any shots and made no chances.
With Argentina now getting ready to face Saudi Arabia at the November World Cup, the Reggae Boyz have no scheduled fixtures until the CONCACAF Nations League in March next year.
