This is Her Fourth Goal of the Season

Jamaican international Khadija Shaw scored an emphatic goal to help Manchester city with a 2-0 win against West Ham in the Women’s Super League. This win means that city now have the same amount of points as bitter rivals Manchester united.

United are currently sitting in the fourth position in the table and they are only ranked above City because of goal difference. The first four teams normally secure a champions league spot.

Shaw will be hoping to help her team leapfrog united by scoring more goals in the remaining games. There are only four WSL games left before the season comes to an end.

Gareth Taylor’s side took the lead when Georgia Stanway found the bottom of the net after eight minutes.

The Blues were never sure of the victory and West Ham threatened to come back into the game. They needed Shaw’s goal to kill off the game. She put West ham out of their misery by scoring a typical poacher’s goal in the 63rd minute.

She headed in Caroline Weir’s corner kick to secure all three points for Manchester City. This is the Reggae girl’s fourth goal of the season for her new club.

Khadija Shaw is in her first season at Manchester City after dominating the French league in the past few seasons. She established herself as one of the best strikers while playing for Bordeaux and she even won the top-scorer’s award.

Shaw and her Jamaican teammates made history after they became the first female Jamaican team to participate in the World Cup three years ago.

Manchester city and man united will meet again when they face off in the FA Cup semifinal that will be held on April 16.
