West Indies President And Captains Thank Their Fans For Support

Dr Kishore Shallow; the president of Cricket West Indies, has thanked the team’s fans for providing them with “unwavering support.” The respective captains urged the region’s fans to remain united in 2024. These messages come after a year in which the senior West Indies teams went through many ups and downs.

Shallow sent her message together with Christmas greetings. This message was posted on the social networking service Instagram. Shallow wished all West Indies supporters an ‘enchanting holiday season.’ She reiterated that her message was straight from her heart. She also wished them a flourishing new year.

Test captain Kraigg Brathwaite, also sent a message of thanksgiving to the supporters. She expressed gratitude that the fans had stuck with them even when her side only secured one win in six outings in 2023. The 31-year-old expressed optimism that her team will enjoy more success in the coming year.

White-ball captains Rovman Powell and Shai Hope sent season’s greetings to the region. Darren Sammy, the white-ball head coach was also part of the West Indies family that sent these warm messages. Hope urged the fans to us embrace values like joy and unity. He added that they should treasure beautiful moments with their loved ones. Hope emphasized that these feelings should last beyond the sumptuous feasts and glittering festivities. Hope is an established leader of the One-Day International side.

Two-time former T20 World Cup-winning captain, Sammy, said that he wishes the supporters prosperity, immeasurable joy and the fulfillment of companionship.

The West Indies Women’s captain, Hayley Matthews also sent a message of unity to the fans. She compared their on-the-field bond to what the fans should experience off the field.
