WI Women Beat Sri Lanka In A Warm-up Match Ahead Of World T20

The West Indies Women are hoping to upset the cards when they face off against England in the weekend

The West Indies Women’s team secured a morale-boosting win against Sri Lanka Women. Captain Hayley Matthews played a major role in helping the West Indies secure an all-round performance to break their losing sequence.
This warm-up Twenty20 World Cup game was a low-scoring affair that ended in a four-wicket win.
Matthews delivered 3-17 from four overs while Afy Fletcher contributed with 2-12 from four overs. The Sri Lankans were dismissed by the Windies for 107 in a game that happened at the Western Province Cricket Club.
Unfortunately, the Caribbean side still had struggles with batting despite winning the match. The top score went to Mathews after delivering 46 from 48 balls. The Caribbean team secured the win with two balls remaining in the contest.
Matthews revealed that she was happy to secure an impressive all-round performance . She gave these comment in a post-play interview with journalists. She also praised the bowlers for restricting the opponents to 107, especially because the Sri Lankans have vey good batters.
The West Indies Women are hoping to upset the cards when they face off against England in the weekend. They will be in group 2 together with Ireland, Pakistan, India and England. The event will happen at Boland Park in Paarl.
