Digicel Business has added more funding into the yearly Couples Resorts Charity Golf Tournament.
The organization has built a culture of supporting charitable causes. The organization is hoping to nurture the next generation of golfers.
The event will be attended by several corporate golfers. The event is scheduled to happen at the Upton Golf Club in St Ann. The 18-hole course will host the event on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
Digicel Business will be acting as the presenting sponsor. The organization will work together with other corporate sponsors. They are planning to fund many deserving non-profit organizations in 2024. The tournament will feature many young golfers who are hoping to build a name for themselves.
According to Joy Clark, the company’s director of corporate and government relations, they will use the money to fund Hamilton Mountain Basic schools and the Three Hills Primary. The organization will also fund the Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Digicel is a leading connectivity company in Jamaica. The company has established itself as a partner to public sector institutions, businesses and schools. The company feels that it’s their responsibility to have a positive impact on the society they serve.
Upton is regarded as one of the Island nation’s best golf courses. It has a rolling landscape that allows people to view the sea and mountains. Golfers regard it as a reasonably challenging course although it comes with meticulously groomed greens and fairway.
The Couples Resorts Charity Golf competition has received a lot of funding from corporate entities over the years. They have raised more than $25 million through several local charities.
Clark thanked their corporate friends for being very generous. He insisted that they are hoping to strengthen how they relate with them. He said that they will work on how to better serve their business interests.
