Jamaica Women Lose To Cuba In Second CAC Hockey Defeat

The Jamaican team has succeeded in collecting three medals at the Games

The national female hockey team were thrashed by Cuba in a 6-0 loss. This game was their second defeat in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games.
Yuraima Vera, Jennifer Martinez and Cheila Darias scored three goals for Cuba. Yunia Milanes was the outstanding player for Cuba. She registered three goals in an unforgettable performance. The Jamaicans went downhill in the second half after trailing 2-0 at the break.
This defeat comes in the wake of the nation’s latest 4-0 defeat in the hands of Trinidad and Tobago. Nicole Bradshaw; the Jamaican national coach was disappointed in his team’s forgettable performance. The squad is scheduled to face off against Mexico in their final fixture. The match is expected to happen today at (9 a.m. Jamaica time).

The medal table is dominated by Mexico, Colombia and Cuba. Mexico boasts of 144 medals that includes 38 bronze, 49 silver and and 57 gold medals. The second nation is Colombia with 24 bronze, 24 silver and 40 gold medals. Cuba followed with 26 bronze, 26 silver and 27 gold medals. The English-speaking Caribbean nations were led by Trinidad and Tobago with three bronze, two silver and two gold medals. Trini was in the in 11th position in the overall rankings thanks to their seven medals.
