Andrew Lue, Jamaica Table Tennis Association’s (JTTA) president, expressed great delight over Jamaica’s performance in the Caribbean and Pre-Cadet Championships held in Guyana.
Jamaica has so far bagged gold, silver and bronze titles in games they have played in teams. Jamaica won the boys’ under-11 title when Anthony Bird’s and Ajani Spencer’s team thrashed Trinidad and Tobago 3-1. The team of Kayan Denton and Keera Whyte won the silver medal in the girls’ under-13 category while the bronze medal was won by Gmarco Smith’s and Logan Royes’ boys’ under-13 team. Lue attended the games in Guyana where he expressed his happiness
With Jamaica not participating in the girls’ under-11 team event, each team still secured a medal. Lue also thanked Guyana for hosting the championships at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall which provided the players with varying arena conditions. The players conducted themselves quite well under the administration of manager Lue and coaches Dale Parham and Sandra Riette.
The tournament is expected to end today after the individual games have been played.
